How Promensil Works

Promensil contains 4 key isoflavones that mimic estrogen in the body, but much weaker and without the risks associated with traditional hormone replacement therapy (HRT). The isoflavone molecules (phytoestrogens) show a preference to bonding with beta estrogen receptors in cells but show no affinity to bond with the alpha estrogen receptors. What this means is that Promensil is able to provide relief of many menopause symptoms associated with lowered estrogen levels in the body without elevating risks of cancer or cardiovascular events, known side effects of HRT.

Isoflavones are phytoestrogens, which literally means, plant estrogens. Isoflavones are similar in chemical structure to the body's own estrogen, and when consumed in adequate amounts they are able to mimic some of the effects of estrogen to assist with maintaining health and well being. Isoflavones however are weaker than our natural estrogen, and are selective in their action in the body. Isoflavones supplement the needs of women over 45 when levels of hormones are declining.

Patient should start by taking 1 tablet of Promensil Double Strength 80 mg every day with a meal to help with absorption. The tablet can be split in half, with one half taken with breakfast and the other half taken with the evening meal.

Take Promensil Double Strength daily for 2 months to ensure efficacy. Most women will start experiencing relief in 3 to 8 weeks. Promensil can be taken safely for as long as a woman is experiencing benefits. If she feels comfortable enough, she can reduce the dosage to 1 tablet of Promensil Regular Strength 40 mg a day. She can always switch back to 80 mg if her symptoms worsen.

Promensil is non GMO, gluten free, and has no sugar added. All ingredients are pharmaceutical grade, and sourced from reliable pharmaceutical companies in Australia and Western Europe. The isoflavones are extracted from red clover hay farmed in controlled fields in Austria and Germany.

While this can vary with the individual, most women notice relief from symptoms within 3-8 weeks. The response may vary with the individual. If you have had absolutely no change in your well being after 9 weeks then you should contact your doctor or call PharmaCare, as we may be able to suggest ways to improve the efficacy of Promensil® for you.

It is important that Promensil® be taken DAILY. It will not be effective otherwise. It's recommended duration of use is at least six months. Promensil® can be used safely for a long time. When visible symptoms such as hot flashes reduce or stop, the effects of declining estrogen levels are still affecting bone mineral density and cardiovascular health. Promensil® helps reduce Bone Mineral Density losses and improve arterial compliance.

PharmaCare has conducted clinical trials throughout the world to demonstrate the benefits of Promensil® for the alleviation of menopausal symptoms including hot flashes and feeling of well being. Promensil® trials have been published in scientific and medical journals. All studies were conducted by specialists in universities, clinics and teaching hospitals under Good Clinical Research Practice guidelines.

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs

Yes you can, but you should not take HRT and Promensil® at the same time. The two therapies shouldn't be combined because of the potential risk of competitive inhibition (they may work against each other).

When you stop HRT, start taking Promensil® Double Strength daily for at least 2 months. The higher dose is recommended as it takes time for Promensil® to become effective (3 to 6 weeks) so there will be a period during the changeover that will feel uncomfortable as your menopause symptoms increase for a few weeks then begin to subside as Promensil® becomes effective. Make sure you take Promensil® every day with a meal to help it absorb into the body.

Yes. Women can take Promensil® while they are still menstruating, in the time leading up to menopause. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding however should not take Promensil® without first consulting a doctor.

Not all Red Clover products are the same. The leaves of the plant contain the highest amount of isoflavones. Red Clover blossoms contain little or no isoflavones so products such as Red Clover tea will not provide any measurable isoflavone levels.

Red Clover and Soy are both legumes and belong to the same family of plants. The main difference is that Red Clover contains four active isoflavones whereas Soy only has two. The extra two found in Red Clover are commonly found in other legumes such as chickpeas and lentils.

Estrogens play a vital role in maintaining a woman's health and well-being over her lifetime. Around the age of 35, a woman's own production of estrogens may slow. This is a challenging time for many women and the maintenance of lifestyle, well-being and normal body function is important to the enjoyment of this stage of life. The effects of giving supplemental estrogens are well known. They help relieve the symptoms of menopause, maintain healthy bones, as well as healthy cholesterol levels. They maintain arterial wall elasticity, the feel and appearance of the skin, normal mood and emotions, and the ability to concentrate.
